I think of this series as a still life series of things left over and left behind. Some of these things are from my parents lives and some are left overs from my house as I move through my life. The cat Romeo lived a happy long life at the veterinarian clinic after my parents died. He was loved by many people and had the run of the place. The shoes were ones I got at a cloths swap and never wore. The couch is from my parents beach house. Many generations have taken naps on it. The art table was the first table my husband bought when we moved back to Dallas. The folding chairs and ladders are from my parents house after it was sold. The trophy is my mom's tennis trophy from 1943. I keep it in my studio for remeberance and inspiration. The iron is the one I ruined ironing crayon on wax paper for my elementary art class. It lives at the studio. The phone are also from my parents house.I am sure I spent many hours on that phone . The camera was mine from my photography days. The sprinkler is from my house.I dragged hoses around for years trying to fight the dallas droughts .I have an irrigation system now.The pumpkin and purple chair are from the school where I taught elementary art . The tea cups are all the ones left in my studio. After March I drink Ice Tea every afternoon. That is simply what that is all about. However in the process of painting I think of million related and unrelated things.
