Chasing Shadows was presented at Artspace 111 in June of 2025. The Galley described the exhibit with my full approval as "ecological portraits that present the significance of inextricable connection of humanity and nature." Chasing Shadows
This show started with me tracing shadows every day during my stay in Northern California. I recorded what was casting the shadow and the time I drew them on the bottom corner of each tracing. I was struck with the sharpness of the shadows in my garden. Once outlined and colored in where the light is blocked become the positive space. The negative space is where the light shines through. In truth it is impossible to trace a shadow in the natural world .The light moves too fast. Shadows are solid and ephemeral.
